Re: Heart disease: American Women's number 1 killer
A logical conclusion to make (above) after evaluating the evidence, however the conclusion is one-step-removed from the true cause. Heart disease is the symptom of a really bad (too fatty) diet and when combined with other environmental pollution creates a catastrophic result.
The deaths are only one part of the problem..... many of those who are not actually killed are still acutely disabled in one form (poor endurance, stress, etc.) or another.
It seems that human beings are just another species that is taking a hit from petro-chemical pollution with the added element of a non-sustenable and fat ladened diet that is laced with chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
The result is that our bodies are severely taxed by the continual process of attempting to houseclean foreign substances that have no business being introduced to biological organisms. The collective effect of foreign substances is debilitating.

Please don't listen to this person. Two years ago, I had a quadruple bypass. I was in great shape, not overweight, and had an EXCELLENT diet watching my fat intake and many of the other factors he's listed. My problem was 999% heriditary.
Heart disease is as important as the article states - and we all need to watch our bodies for the signs. But what this person is stating isn't the end all to the subject matter.

To many women do consider heart disease a man's problem, in the future it will continue to grow as a problem unless more people
get concerned about diet and exersise.

My sister told me a loooonnnnnnnng time ago that breast cancer was the worst disease for humanity. It was not. She claimed men were the reason for it because they didn't do anything about it. She blamed men for woman's ills. I asked her why she and her feminist sisters didn't do anything about it? She had no answer other than she said she didn't have the power. BS. Now we find men with breast cancer. Heart disease doesn't distinguish between man and woman. We all must come together and destroy it.

People are responsible for their own diet and lifestyle. Inherited they cannot help.
A lot of men choose to die from a heart attack all because they are too maucho to go to a DR.
I know a man who was a drinker, smoker and heavy eater of fats and salts.
He came home from the hospital and stayed on the drs regime for about a week.
He threw out the meds and said "I am going to live while I am alive and die when I am dead."
He got his wish when he dropped dead a month later.

After six bypasses and two renal stints, my doctor discovered I still had high blood pressure and it was not until I was treated with meds developed for those who had heritary heart problems that I got better and felt twenty years younger. My lifestyle was never the cause--never smoked or drank and my diet and weight were good. I do admit I probably did not do enough extra exercise but I was a very active person, not a couch potato. I disagree with the article and believe heart disease is most often inherited.
